The Alta Capital Story
It was late November, just before Thanksgiving, in 1995. Alta Capital opened its doors at a rented room on Cockrell Avenue in Fort Worth, Texas. One employee soon turned into five, but there were only four desks. So, if you left your desk, the person standing got to sit down. Those are the humble beginnings of an employee and client-focused freight factoring company now more than two decades strong. Alta turned its first profit four months after its inception. The changes came fast and furious – a move from that Cockrell Avenue room to an office on Merrimac Circle and later to the current headquarters off Bryant Irvin Road. Alta Capital had 15 employees by the end of 1999, 20 by the end of 2000, and many more today.
